What I learned:
*
I learned that Recognition of Prior Learning is much more than merely a route into formal education, it is a socially just way of making people’s skills, experience and potential visible. Furthermore, the conference highlighted how recognition can support learner empowerment, mobility, workforce development and inclusion across many contexts, including higher education, employment, Indigenous learning, community learning and digital credentials.

How I can use what I learned in my professional practice:
*
After attending this, I can use these insights to design more inclusive learning and assessment pathways that value what learners already know and can do. In practice, this means using portfolios, reflective evidence, authentic assessment and micro-credentials to recognise formal, non-formal and informal learning. I can also ensure that micro-credentials are clearly linked to skills, evidence and outcomes, so they support learner confidence, progression, employability and lifelong learning.
