Emergent Leader Development Program (ELDP)

The Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI) offers a variety of programs, workshops and courses for personal and professional development in the areas of Leadership, Change Management, Self-Awareness and Communication. Our offerings support Sunnybrook's INVENT 2030 Strategic Direction of Thriving People and Teams, and embed education that facilitates the enabler of Social Responsibility and SLI's commitment to equity in education and organizational development.

Earning Criteria

• Time: 74 hours over an 11 week period.
• Participation & reflective exercises: Recipient developed the knowledge, skills and behaviors for effective leadership, while engaging in a community of emerging leaders to build on the three domains of competency.
• Project or Presentation: Weekly assignments, self-paced learning, an individual reflection video and a group project addressing a workplace challenge that aligns with an organizational strategic direction.
  

Program Topics

• Self & Social Awareness: Emotional intelligence, personality preference, respectful workplace practices, resilience and enduring change.
• Effective Communication: Speaking techniques, giving feedback, conflict management, high-stakes conversations.
• Leadership & Management: Project management, leadership presence, HR functions, quality improvement, EDI principles.
