Educator Development Certificate Program (EDCP)

The Sunnybrook Leadership Institute (SLI) offers a variety of programs, workshops and courses for personal and professional development in the areas of Leadership, Change Management, Self-Awareness and Communication. Our offerings support Sunnybrook's INVENT 2030 Strategic Direction of Thriving People and Teams, and embed education that facilitates the enabler of Social Responsibility and SLI's commitment to equity in education and organizational development.

Earning Criteria

• Time: 42-hours over a 9 week period.
• Participation & reflective exercises: Recipient developed knowledge and skills to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate effective learning experiences, while engaging in a community of educators to exchange ideas, experiential knowledge, and best practices.
• Project or Presentation: An original educational concept and the creation of a microlearning artifact incorporating educational technology.

• Professional Educator Competencies: Assessing learning needs, designing curricula and learning experiences, assessing and evaluating learning.
• Inclusive Teaching Practices & Communication: Inclusive learning spaces, well-being, accessibility and UDL.
• Educational Technology: Simulation, eLearning development, microlearning.
• Adult Learning Principles: Autonomy, applicability, problem-based, constructivism.
