Applications of GenAI in Education

In this reinforcing micro-credential, students will explore the practical application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in their learning environment. They will examine current trends and best practices, focusing on using GenAI tools for creating instructional resources for teaching and learning. Students will address ethical considerations such as bias and inclusion, incorporating Indigenous perspectives, to ensure responsible and respectful use of GenAI in education. By the end of this micro-credential, students will be well-prepared to apply GenAI tools in their professional practice to enhance learning experiences and improve outcomes for their learners.

Knowledge and Skills Demonstrated

This badge certifies that the learner has demonstrated the following knowledge and skills:

• Evaluate AI tools for ethical use in education, focusing on privacy, bias, and equity considerations.
• Analyze AI-generated materials to ensure accessibility, cultural inclusivity, and alignment with Indigenous ways of knowing.
• Develop instructional resources that integrate GenAI to enhance student learning and equip students with AI literacy skills.
• Apply GenAI tools to enhance teaching and learning for collaboration and creativity while addressing diverse learner needs. Evidence/Criteria for Success:

The learner has achieved a minimum combined average of 60% on the following outcome-aligned assessments:
