Talented law teachers from across Canada dive into all aspects of law teaching. From mastering foundational learning design principles, to meeting new challenges in areas such as AI and law teaching, to understanding Indigenization, to teaching with problems and projects, the Certificate in Law Teaching brings you the opportunity to learn from expert law teachers alongside terrific peers. The Certificate in Law Teaching is for anyone who wants to deepen their knowledge and strengthen their teaching practices, as well as for those who want to be ready to teach for the first time. In addition to learning from experts in legal education, participants will have the opportunity to learn from talented law teachers from across Canada. Please note that each module will include an assignment to be completed outside of the live meeting time. In addition, module 2 includes an asynchronous workshop that involves creating a problem or project for your course and providing feedback to your peers. What You’ll Learn: - Design an effective law course, whether you are teaching in person or online - Implement practices that ensure diversity, equity and inclusion, and accessibility in your courses - Indigenize your courses - Make thoughtful decisions about law teaching and AI - Use a range of different teaching methods from lecturing to problem-based learning

Criteria

To receive an Osgoode Certificate, you must attend all three modules and satisfactorily complete all assessments within 30 days of the last module.
