Learning Objectives/Outcomes

In this module, students will be introduced to a simple planning process that’ll save time and help become a consistently effective business writer. Students will learn structuring strategies to help make messages easy to read and engaging, and also a review of tips to streamline messages and proofreading tips to reduce errors.

This TECHNATION module is focused on online skills development aimed at building the professional skills required for student work placements within the tech-sector to foster the workforce of the future. The modules feature online learning modules from the Advanced Digital and Professional Training (ADaPT) program, which has trained more than 900 for paid work placements across Canada.

The Student Ready modules provide training in digital literacy, project management, communication, business financials, career skills, and many other competencies to support students. Regardless of one’s level of tech-expertise, the courses are developed to support students from all disciplines of study.

Learning Experience, Activities

Asynchronous (self-paced) e-learning featuring:

  • Text and multimedia presentations that introduce key concepts and apply them to the workplace
  • Interactive checkpoints within the course to test for knowledge and understanding

Assessment

This is a Participation-Based Certificate.

There are several checkpoints for formative assessment. The course concludes with a final knowledge check. Responses are automatically assessed. Multiple attempts are permitted.
