Criteria

Program Outcomes

Following the successful completion of this program, the learner will be able to:

  • analyze the principles, technologies, and performance factors of solar photovoltaic systems
  • install solar photovoltaic systems by preparing the worksite, securing racking structures, mounting photovoltaic modules, and adhering to safety protocols

Forms of Assessment and Evidence

Case study assignment in which learners analyze the principles and benefits of solar photovoltaic systems

Practical project demonstrating the ability to:

  • follow safety procedures
  • install solar racking systems
  • install MLPEs under supervision of a Red Seal certified electrician
  • support installation of solar array wiring and mount inverters
  • install solar PV modules

Assessment Criteria

This microcredential is earned after demonstrating the ability to install solar photovoltaic systems safely through the authentic assessment of the Clean Technology: Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Installation modules by:

  • receiving a passing grade (60% or above) on the case study assignment
  • receiving a passing grade (60% or above) on the practical on-site project
