Electronics with Arduino

The UVic Libraries Digital Scholarship Commons helps the UVic community pursue their passions and tell their research stories in engaging ways. We offer workshops and help with software, 3D printers, laser cutters, and more. The DSC provides a welcoming and inclusive space for the UVic community.

Participants will be able to do the following by the end of this orientation:

• Be able to discuss a range of problems Arduino can help solve including digital humanities problems (Arduino possibilities & limitations).
• Know basic electronic principles including sensors and switches.
• Cut and paste programming, with minor modifications to existing code.
• Be able to wire up projects using a solderless breadboard.
• Build the “Hello World” project for Arduino: Blink project.
• Be able to form a simple circuit of their choice with a switch and output:
  • Love-o-meter
  • Light Theremin
  • Electronic Die
  • Crystal Ball
  • Lie Detector
• Know where to find other projects and tutorials for learning how to program Arduino.
