Seneca Polytechnic is a multiple-campus public college located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. It offers full-time and part-time programs at the baccalaureate, diploma, certificate and graduate levels.

Criteria

The recipient of this badge has demonstrated the ability to:

  • Actively participate in daily stand-up meetings and weekly sprints as a member of the organizing team.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with a virtual organizing team composed of six functional units including marketing, technical support, logistics, and event planning, to ensure smooth execution of the hackathon.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to provide value to challenge sets. This involves understanding the business concerns of the partners and presenting them to the participant community. The organizer will act as a link between participants and mentors to ensure that the challenge sets are met.
  • Using technology to aid, monitor, and control collaboration among students, teams, mentors, collaborators, and judges. This may include using communication tools such as Slack, project management software such as Microsoft Project, or video conferencing tools such as Zoom.
  • Maintain professional and respectful interactions with all stakeholders, including participants, mentors, collaborators, judges, and industry partners, ensuring effective communication and a positive experience for all.

By providing evidence of the following:

  • Contribute to a successful hackathon event that enhances the organization’s reputation for creativity and innovation.
  • Completion of detailed activity schedules plans and assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Active participation in weekly meetings and stand-ups, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Use of relevant materials (e.g., images, videos, and text) when creating websites, social media posts and other communication channels to promote their project.
  • Documentation of Scrum processes, including retrospective reports and lessons learned, to demonstrate continuous improvement and effective project management.
