  3. Tips on how to draft a strong and comprehensive investigation report

  4. Strategies for dealing with various pre-hearing procedures, including motions and pre-hearing conferences

  5. Insight into selecting and training members of a complaints committee

  6. How to prepare and participate in Fitness to Practice proceedings and hearings

  7. Best practices and advocacy tips for prosecuting before a discipline committee as well as defending a member before a discipline committee

  8. The role of the independent legal counsel

  9. How to negotiate reasonable penalties

  10. The role of the prosecutor, defence counsel and independent counsel in the drafting of reasons

Assessment Criteria

In order to obtain the Certificate, the learner must:

  1. Attend Modules 1-5 (live online or via recorded archive)
  2. Successfully complete an online multiple-choice assessment within 30 days of the last module

Estimated learning effort

Approximately 31 hours of learning effort, spread over multiple weeks.
