The Ontario Centres for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long-Term Care (Ontario CLRI) enhance quality of care and living for residents across the province. Our Learning Division develops, delivers and evaluates educational resources and programs to train the current and future long-term care (LTC) workforce.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners earn a completion-based certificate and achieve the following learning outcomes:
Identify elder abilities that can be used as a strength in care planning and ADLs.
Learn about and apply foundational knowledge of specific conditions commonly encountered in long-term care settings and identify associated critical signs and symptoms.
Apply compassionate communication strategies that acknowledge, reassure, and clarify needs and concerns.
Integrate knowledge of the elder’s abilities and conditions with knowledge of best practices to optimally assist them in care planning and ADLs.

Plus one- or two-page resources, quizzes, mini-games, and other activities
Assessment: This is a Completion-Based Certificate with summative assessment (pre and post cases). Learners must achieve a passing score of 100% on each learning activity to successfully complete this course.
