This badge certifies that the learner has developed a foundational understanding of the essential mathematical concepts commonly used in manufacturing. The series reviews fractions, decimals, percentages, statistics, and measurement systems, including metric and imperial conversions. Learners also build skills in shop math, geometry, right-triangle trigonometry, and Cartesian mapping, supporting accurate interpretation of dimensions and calculations in the workplace. Learner also received access to optional modules in the basics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Criteria

Learner has successfully completed a self-directed learning path designed to build or refresh understanding of the common mathematics used in manufacturing.

  • Geometry / Trigonometry
  • Addition and Subtraction (optional)
  • Multiplication and Division (optional)

Learning outcomes:

  • Understanding of adding and subtracting fractions
  • Converting fractions to decimal
  • Understanding Percentage, mean, median and average
  • Understanding imperial and metric measurement and conversion
  • Understanding of shop math and decimal fractions
  • Understanding of ordinant dimensions and x and y axes
  • Understanding of cartesian dimensions and x, y and z axes
  • Understanding of geometry and right-triangle trigonometry

Assessment:

This is a self-paced series includes with several checkpoints for formative assessment. Responses are automatically assessed. Multiple attempts are permitted.
