Incorporated as a Canadian not-for-profit corporation, Hispanotech.ca has been in operation since 2009. Our mission is to help immigrant Latin American STEM professionals achieve success in their careers, so as to maximize their contribution to Canada’s economy, society and culture.

Hispanotech's mainstay offerings include professional networking & educational events, ad-hoc coaching, structured mentorship, and volunteering. These activities implement the virtuous circle described in our motto: Connect - Succeed - Give Back

As a 100% volunteer-led and run organization that does not receive nor seek any government funding, it is important for us to recognize the contributions of our Volunteers, Mentors, Directors, and Supporters. Issuing verifiable digital badges such as this one is an important way for Hispanotech to recognize and highlight such contributions.

Criteria

Launched in 2015, the objective of Hispanotech's Mentorship Program is to help internationally trained professionals make the transition to work in Canada, and improve their skills and confidence while developing professional connections.

The program matches immigrant professionals (Mentees) with seasoned professionals (Mentors) already established in Canada who share similar professional backgrounds and career interests.

Over a three-month period, each Mentor-Mentee pair works together defining a realistic set of goals and executing an action plan to achieve these goals.

The following criteria must be met to be eligible for this badge:

  • Successfully mentor one or more Mentees to complete the structured program designed by Hispanotech.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide guidance and support to their assigned Mentee throughout the 3-month mentoring period.
  • Volunteer to invest a minimum of 8 hours with assigned Mentee, including in-person and/or online meetings.
  • Actively participate in training and development opportunities provided by Hispanotech to improve mentoring skills.
  • Proven record of reliability, commitment, and professionalism in their mentoring work.

Receiving the Mentor Badge is a significant recognition of an individual's exceptional contribution to Hispanotech's mission and values through their mentoring work.

This badge represents the mentor's dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence in guiding and supporting their mentees, and serves as a testament to their outstanding achievements within our community.
