Learning Outcomes:

• Understand the importance of data and data quality
• Understand how to collect good-quality data including:
  • Understanding the problem to understand the necessary questions to be answered; and
  • Defining what data you need, where you will get the data from, how to collect it, who will collect it and where it should be stored
• Ability to assess the quality of existing data including:
  • Understanding where, how and when data was collected
  • Identifying missing, duplicate or errors within data
  • Ensuring data validity by ensuring the collection of a statistically significant number of data points
• Understand how to use good-quality data to make effective business decisions

Module Content

• Text and multimedia presentations that introduce key concepts and apply them to the manufacturing workplace
• Videos and manufacturing examples to add depth and relevance

Assessment: This is a self-paced module that concludes with a final knowledge check. Responses are automatically assessed. Multiple attempts are permitted.
