Criteria

Workplaces that are equitable, diverse and inclusive have higher levels of employee engagement. Employees are happier, more productive and more collaborative. It is growing increasingly necessary for organizations to ensure they offer equitable workplaces in order to attract and retain talent. Employees at all levels of an organization – from the shop floor up to senior leadership – can benefit from understanding how equity, diversity and inclusion shapes workplace culture and the experience of employees.

The Learner has completed approximately 45 mins of self-paced e-Learning developed to increase understanding of key concepts related to equity, diversity and inclusion.

The e-Learning includes:

  • Text and multimedia presentations that introduce key concepts and apply them to the manufacturing workplace
  • Interactive knowledge checks and activities within the course to test for understanding
  • Opportunities for personal reflection
  • Opportunities to apply knowledge to realistic and interactive workplace scenarios
  • Checklists and hints for personalizing and applying the learning to future behaviour

Learning outcomes:

This e-Learning provides learners with the tools to understand:

  • Key definitions of equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and equitable workplace.
  • How personal experiences shape biases
  • The benefits of EDI to individuals and organizations
  • How to identify diversity and different aspects of identity in oneself
  • How to identify diversity and different aspects of identity in oneself
  • Key recommendations for engaging in conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion

Assessment:

This is a participation-based module with several activities and interactive learning elements. Learners receive immediate feedback and are directed to the correct course of action using realistic workplace scenarios. Multiple attempts are permitted.
