Chapter Leader 2018-19
A Chapter Leader is a senior volunteer within their Chapter and may be specialized in a certain program area.
A Chapter may have one or more Chapter Leaders. These are senior volunteers within their Chapter and may be specialized in a certain program area. They are the immediate point of contact for local programs. The Chapter Leader fosters professional development opportunities for the local membership.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver a minimum of four professional development activities per fiscal year:
o Two professional development events that focus on one of the seven identified core competencies of the profession
o Two additional events, which are programmed according to the local market. These can include sharing best practices, webinars, sessions or workshops
• Venue selection, theme organization, menu and pricing of each event.
• Welcome new members monthly within the respective region.
• Welcome new certification candidates and congratulate newly certified members monthly.
• Provide information at all events on:
o I4PL member benefits
o I4PL certification programs
o I4PL events and initiatives as communicated by the National Office
• Seek opportunities for communicating I4PL member benefits and certification to local companies or complementary associations.
To be a Chapter Leader, the volunteer must be a current I4PL member in good standing. Chapter service is strictly on a volunteer basis. Serving on a Chapter requires each member regularly attend Chapter meetings and play an active and engaged role in the Chapter.
