They have conducted effective customer interviews and developed a market-validated value proposition.\n\n#### Average learning time: 80 hours\n\nIncludes 15 hours of instruction, 40 hours of coursework and reading, and over 25 hours in customer interviews and other research.\n\n#### Intended outcomes\n\n- An understanding of the customer problem\n- Customer interview scripts and effective interviewing techniques\n- A framework for recording and analyzing interview data\n- A validated value proposition\n\n#### Performance indicators\n\nBadge holder has:\n\n- Avoided the tendency to design products and services that provide ‘solutions to problems' until they have fully researched and understood what customers’ problems are.  \n- Revised and refined customer interview questions to ensure that they are open-ended, non-leading, not solution-oriented, flexible, and seek further contacts from other potential customers.\n- Tested assumptions by conducting target customer interviews as well as by secondary research.  \n- Reverse-engineered their interview questions so that they have visualized the type of feedback they heard so those core problems and their sub-groups are easily identifiable.\n\n#### Assessment\n\nBadge is awarded after documents and research conducted by the founder has been verified during a one-on-one reflective conversation and assessment with the North Forge Learning Specialist.\n\nThe Learning Specialist will be reviewing the materials and evidence submitted by the Badge aspirant to determine the degree to which they have acquired the most significant enduring understandings, and have asked and answered the essential questions associated with best practice in this regard.  The assessor will have been trained to determine the degree to which the founder has developed a high sense of efficacy, flexibility, craftsmanship, interdependence, and consciousness throughout the program.
