Completion of an approved pathway of education and/or assessment of qualifications in the appropriate discipline of medical radiation technology, recognized by CAMRT and where applicable, the relevant provincial regulatory body. \n1. Confirmation of eligibility to write CAMRT’s national entry-to-practice certification examination.  \n1. Successful completion of the national certification examination, developed and administered under rigorous standards of validity, security, fairness, and integrity.  \n\n**Note**: Certification by CAMRT is distinct from licensure or registration to practice, which is granted by the appropriate provincial regulatory authority, where applicable.\n\n## Assessment\n\nThe certification examination is the central assessment of entry-to-practice competence and is designed and delivered to rigorous standards.  \n\n- CAMRT develops and administers entry-to-practice examinations in four disciplines of medical radiation technology: Magnetic Resonance, Nuclear Medicine, Radiological Technology, and Radiation Therapy.  \n- Successful completion of the national certification examination signifies the integration of knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgement required for entry-to-practice, grounded in psychometrically valid testing and supported by verification of educational preparation or assessment of qualifications. Each examination is developed and administered under rigorous standards of validity, security, fairness, and integrity.  \n- The examinations are based on professionally validated frameworks that assess the competencies described in the *National Competency Profile for Entry-Level Medical Radiation Technologists in Canada*. These competencies establish the quality standards required for safe, effective, compassionate, and ethical care in diverse practice environments. The competency profile, reviewed and approved by Accreditation Canada, defines the national entry-to-practice standard, provides the blueprint for the certification examinations, and serves as a foundation for continued professional growth and higher levels of practice.  \n- All four disciplines share a common set of core competencies, with additional discipline-specific competencies that reflect the unique requirements of each area of practice. The full competency profile and companion documents are available on the CAMRT website.  \n- This certification affirms that the certificant has met the national entry-to-practice standard and is competent to practice in the medical radiation technology discipline identified in their certificate and digital badge.\n\n## Maintenance of the certification\n\nCAMRT entry-to-practice certification is currently awarded without expiration. CAMRT promotes lifelong learning and ongoing professional development to support continued competence.
