Base Camp

The Base Camp badge is awarded to leaders who are invested in working together as a team to align around shared values, integrate core models of team leadership, and establish a critical practice of regularly reflecting on, and adjusting, their individual and collective leadership. The holder of this badge engages with a high level of candor in identifying glimpses of team potential and specific team patterns which get in the way of this potential; works within a senior leadership team to create a comprehensive scan of a shared current state; and contributes to an inventory of key historical turning points shaping the current situation. They demonstrate discernment and imagination in creating both ideal and non-ideal future states at identified time horizons; demonstrate logic and lateral thinking in identifying culminating events towards future scenarios; identify key strategic strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats deserving of executive team attention; engage in important team dialogue, focused on the nature of future challenges, required cultural norms and specific aspects of a shared practice of leadership.
