Learning Agents, a Canadian company connecting skills performance and careers through the recognition power of digital credentials, today announced a new partnership with Edalex, an award-winning Australian company that connects learning, skills, and evidence in contexts around the world.

This strategic alliance will see Learning Agents represent Edalex’s integrative skills solutions in Canada, broadening the scope of services available to their Canadian clients. In turn, the partnership allows Learning Agents to extend its current platform offerings by connecting Edalex’s comprehensive Credentialate, openEQUELLA and openRSD platforms with CanCred.ca, a leading bilingual digital credentialing service in Canada.

We’re thrilled to begin collaborating in earnest with Edalex,” said Don Presant, President of Learning Agents. “We have developed a strong relationship through a common belief in inclusive open recognition that inspires us both. Australia has been at the forefront of work-relevant assessment and skills recognition for decades, and has built a magnificent collection of transferrable tools and practices that we can really use in this country. I’m excited to use the connective superpowers of Edalex technology to adapt these world-leading capabilities to the workplace development needs of English and French-speaking Canadians, helping Canada meet the significant skills and productivity challenges that lie ahead.”

“We are very pleased to be partnering with Don Presant and Learning Agents,” said Dan McFadyen, Managing Director at Edalex. “Don’s deep understanding of the Canadian landscape and his commitment to open recognition aligns perfectly with Edalex’s aim to empower individuals and organisations through verifiable personalized credentials. This collaboration will undoubtedly unlock new opportunities in Canada and further afield.”

Learning Agents was established in 2000 with a mission to connect individuals with skills and careers through innovative educational technologies. In 2016, they launched CanCred, bringing the established Open Badge Factory digital credential technology from Finland to Canada, delivered by Canadians to Canadians.

This partnership in 2025 between Edalex and Learning Agents signifies a shared commitment to advancing the adoption and impact of digital credentials globally. By combining Edalex’s robust integrative technologies with Learning Agents’ current technology, local expertise and established network, this collaboration promises to deliver significant value to individuals, educational institutions, and organisations across Canada.
